"How is it done?" Apple with arrow.

Carved Red Cedar apple with arrow of Silver Ash timber.  There are no joins in either the apple or the arrow.  Each are made from a single piece of timber.  So how did the arrow go through the apple?  A great conversation piece.  11cm high and 23cm long
